A MAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of Jordan Ronan in Tallaght this week.
Patrick Murphy was brought before a special sitting of the Criminal Courts of Justice this evening.
The 36-year-old was charged with murdering Mr Ronan, 20, – also known as Jordan Pakenham – in Drumcairn Avenue in Dublin’s Tallaght in the early hours of Friday morning.
Detective Garda Stephen Nealon told the court that Mr Murphy, of Drumcairn Parade, Tallaght, was charged this afternoon.
The court heard that when charged, Mr Murphy replied: “I’m really sorry that he died. I didn’t mean for this to happen.”
Judge Michael Ramsey was told that Mr Murphy is currently unemployed and granted an application for legal aid.
Mr Murphy was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Wednesday.
